Four out of ten women between the ages of 18 and 59 experience female sexual dysfunction (FSD).
The mental and physical causes of FSD make it difficult for one prescription drug to relieve all type of FSD symptoms, but the German pharmaceutical company Boehringer Ingelheim is betting a fortune that the anti-depressant drug Flibanserin will do just that.
Boehringer believes that women will buy Flibanserin once the FDA approves the drug to treat sexual arousal disorder, and hypoactive sexual desire disorder, because some researchers are calling Flibanserin the female Viagra based on the results of four clinical studies done by Boehringer.
Recent clinical studies show that women can increase their sexual satisfying experiences from three to five a month when they use 100mg of Flibanserin daily.
Most of the women in the study started to experience results after taking Flibanserin once a day, but the results were slow; women started to experience results after forty weeks, so it is a long term therapy, but some women still say they will buy Flibanserin once it’s available by prescription.
The excitement around Flibanserin is based on four clinical trials which included five thousand women in over two hundred and twenty clinics around the world. The ingredients in Flibanserin formula are non-hormonal.
Flibanserin is a combination of dopamine D4 receptors and 5-HT serotonin receptors. The drug was originally developed as an anti-depressant, but the first trials showed Flibanserin was able to stimulate sexual desires, so Boehringer immediately changed its marketing strategy even though no one knows exactly how Flibanserin affects sexual arousal and sexual satisfying activities.
The results of the clinical study are hard to dispute and that’s why Boehringer expects women to buy Flibanserin under the Girosa brand as soon as it is released by the FDA. Viagra is the number one selling drug in the world with sales that exceed $1 billion a year, and Boehringer believes that Flibanserin can match those numbers.
Women around the world need help with FSD symptoms, and some women with FSD symptoms will only buy Flibanserin if it is a prescription medication.
Women Who Buy Flibanserin May Experience Side Effects
Just like any prescription drug clinical studies show that Flibanserin does cause some annoying side effects like headaches, fatigue, nausea, sinusitis, and diarrhea.
That information may reduce Flibanserin’s attractiveness to some FSD sufferers, so there are women who will not buy Flibanserin.
